MEET KCI AT

Orphan & Idle Wells Southwest Conference

October 29th - 30th, 2025

Join us at this year’s Orphan & Idle Wells Southwest Conference to meet our Director of Engineering.

Graham Steele - KCI’s Director of Engineering and a leading authority on leak-sealing technologies - will be attending this year's Orphan & Idle wells Southwest Conference.

Graham is excited to showcase our field-proven solution for orphan and idle wells: A time-activated isolation gel that moulds itself to fit any bore, and cures to form a leak-tight seal that prevents all fluids and gasses from reaching the atmosphere.

A Market-Leading Isolation Solution for Orphan or Idle Wells

Approximately 45% of plugged wells still leak toxic gasses into the atmosphere.

As pressure mounts to successfully plug the remaining 1,000,000+ abandoned, orphan or idle wells scattered across the USA, operators and regulators are demanding a proven solution that can augment or replace traditional cement or cast-iron plugs.

Innovators with a proven track record for delivering reliable isolation chemicals, we’ve developed a cost-effective solution that’s purpose-built for this use case.
Drawing on decades of hands-on experience, our IG-H gel can be poured directly into a wellbore, where it will cure to form a perfect seal that contains H₂S, methane, process fluids or any other contaminant that needs to be isolated from the environment.

IG-H can be deployed alongside traditional isolation plugs, to augment performance, and has been used as a replacement for concrete and iron plugs in the past.

Our sealing solution for orphan and idle wells has been successfully deployed by several P&A operators in the USA, and we have received unanimously positive feedback from all projects.

This was a very successful operation with KCI’s IG-H. It was great working with the KCI Team and we look forward to many more opportunities in the future

An American P&A Operator

Why KCI?

KCI are industry veterans with over 23 years of hard-won experience, but we retain a start-up mentality.

Agile, approachable and highly responsive, we pride ourselves on our ability to work hand-in-hand with our clients; developing effective solutions that deliver at a reasonable price point.

We understand the challenges that face the P&A operators tasked with cleaning up America’s orphaned and idle wells. We also understand the demands of regulators and can deploy both chemicals and staff to ensure that all plugging projects are 100% leak tight.

We have an unmatched success rate, and work hard to minimise the environmental impact of all projects in-line with industry best practices. Visit our Engineering Director at this year’s Orphan & Idle Wells Southwest Conference conference for more detail on our solution, and a more thorough overview of our enviable track record.
